December is an exciting month at Hope Africa University as we approach the graduation of the first medical school students.
These students have just completed 7 years of study and are finishing the requirements with a final written thesis and oral defense. The thesis is crucial and intense. Our students have been investing hours of research, writing, correcting and rewriting and are now ready to defend their theses in front of a panel of physicians.
This month begins the bulk of the defenses in order to qualify for graduation. Blaise was first this week and presented his in English, which is a major accomplishment and one he did with excellence. His topic was Atrial Ventricular Block in Burundi. He asked Joel to preside over the defense and it was educational for us all!
